How do I connect with members without a connection?

In the Ambassador Dashboard, you can find a list of members who have not engaged with peers or ambassadors under the Member Engagement and Connections chart. This list allows you to prioritize your outreach to target specific members.

Available Filters:

  • Date Range: Pick a preferred date range, e.g., run this list every 3-5 days to ensure recently joined members are getting contacted
  • Member Role: Focus on specific member types, e.g., admitted vs. deposited students
  • Total Topics Views: Sort by “Total Topics Viewed,” to prioritize members with no connections but high passive engagement (which indicates interest and an opportunity they will want to connect with ambassadors).

To connect with members:

1. Download the Members Without a Connection report and save it somewhere that is easily accessible

2. Under the Members tab, search the name of the member you'd like to connect with

3. Navigate to their profile and click Send a message

Tip: Craft a message using information from their their profile such as their About Me, Goals listed, and/or what you know about communities they have joined).

4. A member will get notification of the new message (via email or push notification if they have the mobile app)

5. If a member responds, they will appear in your Connections tab

Tip: Add a column to your exported report to keep track of who you have messaged. If a member responds, they will appear in your Connections tab and if they have not responded, they will remain in the Members without a Connection chart. Recording your outreach will allow you to easily keep track of who you have messaged so you can consider a timely follow up in the future.

Note: If a member isn't populating in the search functionality, it is likely due to the fact that they have set their profile to be "private."
