What are actions I can take using Engagement and Connection Metrics?
We have outlined some of the ways in which you can leverage the insights from your Engagement and Connections Metrics to make an impact.
Most Actively Engaged Members:
See which members are proactively creating discussion topics or sending chats, which are indicators of high interest in your institution or programs. These members could be “influencers” of other members, so look for opportunities to reward high active engagement by pinning their posts, encouraging them to keep posting, or asking them to start conversations.
Note: Active Engagement includes chats initiated, chats sent, discussion post replies, and discussion topic created.
Most Passively Engaged Members:
View members with the highest passive engagement, as this engagement type is an indicator of interest, and in the case of admitted students, a high indicator of yield. Prioritize these members in chat and other channels they may be more comfortable with as they may benefit from additional one-to-one outreach.
Note: Passive Engagement includes chats read, communities joined, and discussion topics viewed.
Members Without a Connection:
View members who have not engaged with peers or ambassadors to prioritize outreach and interactions. Sort by “Total Topics Viewed,” to specifically prioritize members with no connections but high passive engagement (which indicates interest and an opportunity they will want to connect with ambassadors).
General Takeaways:
- Focus member outreach based on high-engagement topics and content consumption
- Send communications to members who are consuming content but don’t yet have a 1x1 connection
- Celebrate members with the most site engagement and posts
- Identify members with the most passive engagement and integrate them into broader communication strategies based on their interests
- See the most popular posts to help guide new content
